  1. The one character I can't wait to play...Alfred
  2. I got a sneak peak at Robin, in the flesh But which one is he...?
  3. Ok, Chess was a bad call. But over 95% of all board games use one static board. The same every game. But different outcomes every time. To give you a hint at some of the adventures I have seen on this one static board of Batman: Once, a 10 year player, as Batman took out 2 off the 5 bombs and on the last round took out Bane too. Another time, Red Hood helped out Catwoman and Batman as they were ganged up on and were unable to move. He removed all enemy figures from the board, but this was not enough to win the game. Another time, a very courageous Catwoman snuck into three dangerous zones and disarmed three bombs without getting a scratch on her. While Batman and Red Hood took lots of tea breaks and just picked off the occasional thug. Another time, the villain player had all the heroes close to KO status, and struggled to arm their bombs. We didn't think they would win...up until the last round...BOOM! Every play has had a chance to show great heroism and have these stand out moment in game. It has been well balanced over the course of a year and no one character stands out from the rest. One comment that all reviews say about Conan is that everybody wants to play as Conan. While demoing this game, people were fighting over being the bad guy or Red Hood. And this is great thing, everyone has a favorite character and they feel and play differently. Let's just wait and see what magic Monolith are going to offer us. We may unlock an addition 10 boards (20 other locations) or they may even be working on mini boards to connect the main boards...
  4. Chess has one boards and one layout yet it has been found to be re-playable by many. I myself have played 9 games of the same Batman scenario and have watched 60+ games. It has not gotten dull yet, due to the many possible actions that can be preformed and the strategys layout by the dice. Having room tiles would be great but I feel it will be a headache for the designers at this time. There are so many variables in the number of characters, their powers and the equipment that they are trying to balance the scenarios the best they can. Throwing a another element, such as random board lay out, is another formula to add to the equation. I'm not saying it's impossible. But it's something they are not looking at, as the KS is approaching fast. And the objective for Monolith is to give you a solid product with no holes in it.
  5. Some more eye candy from the suburbs of Gotham. Showcasing the graphic novel side of the game. Where you will play out certain scenes from some of the Dark Knights greatest story-lines. In this case, The Killing Joke. Maybe Red Hood will fall into the vat of acid, scaring himself into the Joker. Will Catwoman be the one that pushes him into the green abyss? Or will the tables be turned and Robin takes a swim? All of this can be written by you...Then there will possibly be the chance of the Joker having his revenge in a second showdown in the plant. February can't come quick enough.
  6. Not only is it the dice colors that will be different for each character, there are the different amount of times that they can use those dice. They also will all have different ability's that will change their results or allow re-rolls or manage there energy. Talking of energy, each character has a different amount of energy. And then there will be the equipment. Batman doesn't use a mini gun, Catwoman doesn't throw Batarangs and Redhood doesn't clack a whip!
  7. Get the latest changes and updates about the game as Adnane "SPILLS THE BEANS" to the Beasts Of War crew
  8. Just for you, here are a collection of photos from the always packed booth at Essen this year.
  9. Gadgets...there will be a few. And you get to pick and choose which to take into the scenario. And special Characters...I sure Monolith have you covered
  10. Average Joe's comes to Gotham. And I'm not talking about a gym. We now have some Gotham civilians to populate the world of the Dark Knight. These are the people he has sworn to protect from theft, kidnapping and murder. If only they had names...
  11. Not only are Jim Lee and Georges Clarenko works of are being use in the design of the game. Now David Finch joins the team.Active since 1993 in the comics world, he quickly forged himself a solid reputation, becoming a star-artist of his generation. He regularly pencils the adventures of Batman since 2010 and started with Batman #700 and Batman: The Return. He was also the lead artist and co-writer of the monthly issue Batman: The Dark Knight and one of the artists working with the writer Tom King on the Rebirth serie. He had the chance to design many of the secondary characters like White Rabbit or the heroes Gotham and Gotham Girl.He created an EXCLUSIVE ORIGINAL ARTWORK for Batman: The Boardgame depicting the rooftops of Gotham City. David included Batman, of course, the Bat-signal and also some of the closest allies of Bruce Wayne. Such collaborations with artists who are part of Batman's legend testify Monolith's will to offer the core of what the Dark Knight is to the fans! And this is just the beginning...
  12. I'm not sure if there will ever BE any more KS exclusives, due to Monolith selling their games, only on KS.
  13. Even if it was in the Gummy Bears universe, I'd back it
  14. Who cares where it's set. As long as the same system is in place, I'm game. ^^
  15. Just giving a shout out to anyone who played a GenCon. How did you find the game? (yes I know you got a map with directions!!!)
  16. Frank Miller Will there be other versions of Catwoman? (meow!) and all the Robins?
  17. you may or may not know this (nose blowing time) but I produced the soundtrack for The 7th Continent, which is a free download. Some of the tracks I use while playing Conan. The Swamp (area IV) and Temple (area VII). You can find them here https://the7thcontinent.seriouspoulp.com/en/resources/music
  18. I too would like a Long Halloween campaign. Detective work and combat. There will be some joker thugs and others, as well as some generics. And there will be multiple sculpts of Batman. Which ones? I don't know.
