The Shrine of Amra

After way too long away from the miniatures table, I decided to finish this scenery item for a scenario I have in mind called The Shrine of Amra; the opening text is below. Conan's helm, sword, cape...and the skull of the Winged One. Still needs painted.

Conan crouched in the foliage at the edge of the swamp village; he had travelled far to reach it, deep in the Black Kingdoms. Here, he had been told, ruled a petty warlord/shaman who claimed to be Amra reborn. His power came from his rituals involving potent lotus concoctions and a shrine of items from the final adventure of the original Amra, surely long-since perished in the savage jungles. Conan's interest had been piqued, and so here he was.

Could the items really be his? His mind filled with memories of the day he had discarded them, The Tigress speeding seaward, flames mounting higher and higher from her deck to lick at the mast and envelop Belit's lithe figure that lay lapped in scarlet on the shining pyre. He had watched for a time, realizing the sea held no further allure for him without Belit. Then he had turned, plunging into the vast mysterious wilds, tossing away first his horned helm, then his scarlet cape, and finally the broadsword that had ended the oldest race in the world. They were part of the life he had forged with The Queen of the Black Coast, and held no further allure for him either. Striding away into the leafy fronds he had seen no other person, but perhaps someone had lurked there...

Sounds from the village ended his somber musings. It was time to discover the truth of the matter; to show this upstart the power and fury of the true, living, Amra.
