Prohibited014
Has anyone tried the Devil in Iron campaign yet? If so has anyone else found it horribly unbalanced for the overlord? My group are 3 scenarios in and in each one they have managed to win the scenario in less than 3 turns. I have barely had a chance to move as the heroes easily wipe out my entire crew in a turn or two. when I do manage to activate a group they are so lame and weak that I don't even make a dent in the heroes. It is really ruining my love for the game as each scenario feels like the overlords role is to just move guys around for the heroes to slaughter. and as for my group, they are getting bored as there has been no challenge for them. I have played the game enough to know I am playing the rules correctly, and scenarios outside of this campaign have felt much more balanced. It just feels like the campaign was tossed together and not play-tested, it has been bullshit so far.
drmauric
When I played through it each side seemed to go in streaks. Heroes would win a couple then the Overlord would win a couple. It gets hard for the Heroes toward the end. If I am remebering correctly there is one scenario with LOTS of mummies with 3 armor and the Jinx skill. I wouldn't count your Overlord out just yet. The Overlord won when we played. Try ganging up on a Hero, that will slow down their advancment because a dead hero can't spend their XP before the scenario and it will also get you some XP for those double gems. Try keeping your beat up minions away from the Heroes so they don't eliminate the tile and get XP. Good Luck!
Squatting Monkey
Look carefully at the skills and play to them. Example, if you need to protect someone, flood their area with minions with sacrifice. use you archers effectively —when placed with the captain the get free re-rolls. I’m only on our 3rd scenario but I won the last one by bringing 2 characters to near death. Then killing 1 while they tried to exit in scenario 2.
