  1. Monolith have announced, at GENCON, that Batman the Boardgame will be coming to Kickstarter in February 2018. And they are looking at a 10 month turnaround in the the production of the game, much like Mythic Battles: Panteon. So, it should be on your shelf's by Christmas 2018.
The price point, kicking around at the moment is $130 for the base game. This higher price is due to the royalty's that have been and have to be paid to Warner, for the licence. A serious amount of money has already been invested into the project. Meaning that this could be a make or break project. As Fred Henry (the designer and founder of Monolith posted on BGG) said that if it makes less than than Conan ($3million) they would pull the plug...But I can't see that happening, can you?

    ...It's Batman!

  2. My daughter likes to play this.

Over the weekend I played Reiner Knizia's Lord of the Rings (2000 version) for the first time in quite a while. A cooperative game, one of the first if not THE first, which pits the hobbits against Sauron. The hobbits must destroy the ring, Sauron must have the darkness overtake them. When I last played it (a few years ago) I wasn't a fan but I really enjoyed playing it this time.

  3. Thinking about the gaming possibility that this figure brings to the game that would make it vastly different from Conan...

    * There could be a protection mission. Get Oracle from A to B safely.
    * A collection mission where the Batman team have to pick up items and get them to Oracle so she can upgrade their gear.
    * A stealth mission. The Batman team are hidden on the board and the Overlord has to abduct Oracle without crossing the heroes.

    I sure there are others...

  4. I got to play a friends, first published game...Now the pressure is on to review it.

A quite profound, worker placement, potion making, screw over your friends , game. With a very tight economy. It looks cute but is very evil.

Blackwood is the name of the game and it should be popping into stores sometime in august-september...in France only.

  5. One of the problems of a Universe, like these are the branching character arks and reboots that make you love or hate them. I feel that people will love or hate some of the mini designs, depending on the character/story-line that they prefer. For exsample, which Selina Kyle do you want in the game? If there was only one.

What I love is that the OTHERWORLD titles play around with the character and change them. But at the end of the day you can say "that was a cool idea/story" then pick a normal issue and continue the story that you love.

  6. It does depend on the time limit of the game.

During the many play thoughts on the Subway proto (6 rounds max), some characters were KO'd at the begin and then came back. Others were KO'd at the 5th/6th round and could not help in anyway.

There was even a player who wanted to attack a KO'd character, to stop them recovering. He was truly the evil player
