There are some good news for Crowfall, the Closed Beta (free registration) has begun last summer and anyone can participate to it. They have improved a lot of stuff : performances, character advancement (attributes, disciplines, Shadowbane-inspired classes), passive training that became more active training (through gears), mounts, caravans, refineries, etc. Though they have kept the gruesome elements of the game : grave digging, sacrifices to gods, necromancy, etc. Here's a video showing PvP at medium-scale :

They have raised nearly $30M to realize their vision, with 330,000 registered users.
