  1. Guys, I was looking for "Battle of the Mounds" Conan in Google and guess what I've found in the first page: LINK We're positioned in Google now!
  2. Alternate tile for Round helmets. By the way, feel free to suggest another name for the unit (Riders of Doom is reserved for Horned helmets). Which one do you like best, this new one or the old one?:
  3. @Florentin we already have tokens with the exact item for each area. So we don't have a random Asset deck and we cannot apply that rule. And the heroes place the tokens wherever they want at the start of the game, so they already have every advantage regarding equipment.
  4. Sounds familiar, but with tiles The game uses only round bases and closest thing to a horse we have, which is the camel, uses round bases as well. I'm nearly done with tiles so I'll be able to work on the map soon, if you want to.
  5. Of course the game is more appealing with proper miniatures. For the first version I can make something similar to the big horse token made in the French forum : I'll simply remove all the icons, add the unit name and make variants with different border colors, matching the tiles. That would do for the first version.
  6. Fairly easy! Just remove the big mount base and use the normal foot miniature on top of it.
  7. Everything depends on how true you want to be to the film. There are no miniatures that are a good match for the film, they'll be proxies at best. Making just heads and weapons would limit the potential players to those with conversions skills, and I'd rather make miniatures people can use straight out of the box. Anyway I wonder how many people would invest in mounted miniatures for a single scenario. For the first version of the scenario, I'd use the game guards miniatures, with color rings matching the tile borders to tell them apart, (green for Fangs, for example, blue for Riders of Doom, etc). All players will need to buy or make is round bases of the right diameter (camel size) to mount them on. This way we keep it easy and accessible for everyone.
  8. Also, I have a first draft for the intro text of the scenario: Comments?
  9. Amazing job counting the units! I'd make smaller units, probably about 3 units per tile the Riders and only 2 units the Fangs. We will reach the total number thanks to the Reinforcement points. About names, since the Horned helmet and the standard appears only mounted, they can be called Riders of Doom. But the others (current Temple Guards) appears also on foot in the Mountain of Power, they need a name that works for both versions, mounted and dismounted. Also, since some of the riders have spears, I plan to make variants of Fangs and Guards with the skill. So I proppose: Horned helmets -> Riders of Doom Round helmets (current Temple Guards) -> Open to suggestions (name must work for Mounted and Dismounted tile).
  10. Problem is that is hard to find a good image with the whole horse. They are usually moving fast, so they're blurry in screen captures. @Xaltotun sent me one, but result would be even worse than this one, because the rider is farther away from the camera.
  11. I'd have to watch the battle again, but I think these guards outnumber the Fangs (which makes sense, because Fangs are elite warriors). For example, the standard bearer is one of these guards.
  12. He is one of Thulsa Doom riders. Unlike the Fangs, these guys wear different armors and helmets. It's screen capture from the film, I just added the sword. I've just realised I've forgotten to add the reinforcement cost, I'll do it later.
  13. And last tile! Not my best one, but it will do.
  14. Maybe there is an easier solution, not requiring any special rules. If the monoliths zones have the size of one infantry base (or more exactly, they are big enough for one infantry base but too small for two), when a single miniature enters the zone, it reaches its exertion limit. Then, as described in the rulebook, that zone can be attacked from the adyacent ones.
  15. SKELETONS To keep things simple, skellies will be placed in the set up map (heroes don't move them around in the movie). Their only effect in game would be to occupy some space in the area they stand, counting for its exertion limit. I think they shouldn't block, because a skeleton is easy to move apart and we don't see that in the film. MONOLITH FIELD Regarding zone division inside the monolith field, we've agreed to make corridors (wide enough for horses) and stone rows (zones too small for horses). Problem comes if the heroes decide to stay in the stone rows, because since mounted miniatures don't have the reach skill, nobody can attack them (only OL Liutenants choosing to dismount). At the same time, Subotai could attack them if adyacent with his spear. This would led to a scenario that the OL can never win because he need to kill the heroes to win (as long as Thorgrim and Rexor are alive). posible solutions: - monolith zones are so small that they can be attacked from (and attack to) adyacent corridor areas. - Or giving some riders the reach skill. Thoughts?
  16. On the other hand that panoply is too beautiful to not be used, I'd include it in the scenario rules as an illustration if we all agree.
  17. I'm not sure about this because these two reasons: - When we explain what the token does in the scenario rules, you need to include the image of the token itself with the explanation. It would be a bit confusing to include two or three posible illustration for the same token. - People are going to be overwhelmed with the amount of material we are creating, perhaps it would be better to keep it simple and say "look, this is exactly what you need to print to play" instead of "chose the token variant you want to print ".
  18. First try with the movement tokens: Up-side / down -side(real hero position) / down-side (decoy)
  19. Absolutely right! It's only that in the Battle of Mounds everything is pretty crude and that panoply seems a bit sophisticated for that scenario from my point of view. But of course, it would fit nicely in a more civilizated Hyborian kingdom such Aquilonia.
  20. That token is very nice but I'm notr sure it fits the theme, looks like an coat of arms of some short and not very "barbaric" in my opinion. Besides, these three categories of tokens will have the same face-up (the point of this is that heroes will know which one is what, but the OL will not): - Equipment - Traps - Decoy And that face-up would be the monolith with the skeleton, as it generic enough (if you like it, of course). Tokens belonging to all these three categories will put in place by the heroes before the start of the game, and the OL will only see tokens with same face-up. - When an OL unit enter a zone with a token, the token is flipped. - If it's a decoy, it's removed from the game. - If it's a trap, it comes into effect and it's removed from the game. - If it's equipment, it remains flipped and only the heroes can interact with it. -When a hero enters a zone with a token (heroes can check what the tokens are any time during the game): - He can chose to take it if it's equipment. - It remains facing down in any other case (equipment they he doesn't want to pick up yet, trap or decoy).
  21. Thanks! But I think they should be hero-specific (two for Subotai and two for Conan) . I'll make those, no problem.
  22. I've worked on the trap a bit, I've made the spike lighter so it's easier to notice because the token it's going to be small.
