    I've been thinking what scenario would be best to do next. I know you guys feel like doing scenario VII - The Fangs of the Serpent II (a.k.a. the orgy), but please take in account this is the only remaining scenario needing another custom map. Perhaps it would be better to do something lighter, using an official map. I don't have the Modiphius tiles yet, so the list of remaining scenarios using Monolith boards are:

     

    II - The Tower of Set

    Heroes: Conan, Valeria, Subotai

    Map: Custom or Khitai Tower from Khitai expansion

    The heroes enter the dreaded Tower of Set to steal its riches. They must take out the guards in stealth and they can disguise themselves using the tunis of the acolytes and of course they must retrieve the greatest treasure there which is protected by a Giant Snake!

     

    III - Escape! 

    Heroes: Conan, Valeria, Subotai

    Map: Stygia streets (from the Stygia expansion)

    The tower guards rush after the intruders through the streets of Shadizar. The heroes must fight their way through the streets and make the guards lose their trail. A vengeful camel may appear.

     

    VI - The Fangs of the Serpent I

    Heroes: Conan, Valeria, Subotai

    Map: Stygia tunnels (from the Stygia expansion)

    Having recovered his strength, Conan and his companions head back to the Mountain of Power to recover the daughter of King Osric, now an adept of the Serpent God. First they have to sneak into the mountain using a secret entrance, dark tunnels lead them deep into the heart of the mountain.

     

    And then we have one scenario re-using the Mounds map:

     

    V - The spirits here ask a heavy toll

    Heroes: Valeria, Subotai

    Map: Custom Mounds map

    Akiro has cast a spell on Conan to save his life but the Spirits of the Mounds will try to claim his soul before dawn.

     

    I think doing any of these will reduce dramatically the development time and increase the chance that people actually play our scenarios. I think now we are getting more "likes" and sympathy than actual players because printing so much material when there are so many scenarios out there using official stuff is not very appealing. Of course we are doing this mainly for ourselves, but it would be nice to get more people involved.

     

    I think before voting what we want to do next, we need to ask our dear cartographer @Florentin if he feels like starting another map right away.

    What scene are you calling the" Fangs of the serpent" in the movie ?

    Anyway, we can say that an important thing worked: I think it was quite balanced, infact in the second part of the game we had fun.

     

    I'll write more tomorrow, since there are some points to explain, I guess.

    Maybe some easy rules could take place in order to fight more in the monoliths field?

    As an example, until turn 4 it is not possible for the OL to go to the Yasmina's hill because Thulsa doom wants his revenge !?

    Maybe some tiles must be modified in the river to give a chance to the OL to succeed in killing the heroes in 4 turns ?

    You are right ! 

    So maybe the solution would be: 

    • from turn 1 to 4 OL have to kill the heroes
    • From turn 4 to ... OL have to captured the princess  or kill the heroes

    And If Thorgrim & Rexor die then kill the princess!

  8. To my opinion, Thulsa Doom want to take its revenge after the Caves attack by killing the heroes !

    He thought that should had be easy and then he would had got the princess.

    But that wasn't the case and he realized this when he saw both Thorgrim & Rexor killed....then he decided to kill the princess !

    I suggest:

     

    - Before Doom enters the game: capture the princess (as it is) + kill the heroes (as you suggest)

    - when Doom enters the game: kill the princess OR kill the heroes

     

    Thing is heroes are tough as nails with their armours and with Thorgrim and Rexor coming late in game, they're pretty hard to kill. So doing this we ensure the game will last at least until Doom enters the scene, which is a good thing.

     

    This combined with the "aggressive" River setup could spice things up.

    Capture the princess and (&) kill the heroes for objective or

    capture the princess or(+) kill the heroes ?

    Sorry past boolean algebra lectures are making me confuse ! ☺

    Hi guys !

    I have read the scenario and I found it very good ! It was a real pleasure to read it and the introduction (once again) is very well written and immersive !

     

    However, I need some information because there is something I do not understand very well.

    Maybe it is a consequence of my lake of conan game practice ?

     

    • After setup heroes do not move any gems from their reserve to their fatigue zone ? What does it means ? Why such thing ? After each new phases setup ? or only at the first setup ? To my understanding each new game phase gems are going to move from the fatigue zone to the reserve ? If this does not occur at each new heroes phases, the hero would not be able to have action ?

    I have printed your beautiful work yesterday evening!  I will work on it this evening! 

    At present,  the map and all the stuff files are at the printer Shop ! Hope all would be ready for this evening ! I'm dying to test the scenario ! This is a great day !!!

    Thanks  to you guys, an old child dream is going to come to life!

    Would you mind if I make the thinner more vertical wall of sand? I think you have the zone division and zone centers in a different layer. I'd just need the "base map" without zones in JPG or BMP format.

     

    I'm saying that because if you draw lines of sight and then we change the wall, many of them would need to be drawn again. I understand you can't the change the wall before Christmas but I'm confident it won't take me long.

    As we already said we will study the need to change it in a second time like a lot of things for the expert mode!

    Moreover, I'm not convinced at all about the need to change the sand wall before xmas and ...even after xmas!

    There are many reasons for this !  Let's have a look to my last post on the subject...and a new reason is that it could be seen as a decor (as it exists in the Picts map)  and to an area that prevents the dooms riders and foot men to reach the princess too easily!

     

    We have enough worked on the map now...the urgent matter are the rules...

    I would like to test the scenario by myself urgently because you are alone to do this and it is not the right way !

    It is not only to you to do the test but to all the team!

     

    You have well understood that I would like to test the scenario with the map as it is but for this we need ...the rules!

    I don't understand why you do not send us the rules synthesis faster in order to allow the team to share a same vision and to be better able to discuss of improvement together or to congratulate each other because result would be perfect ?

    But for this, one more time, you have to send us all the rules fastly...

    But if you do not want to  or not have the time to write them, I could spend time to  write this document this week!

    In fact, we don't have time left: in less than one month it will be Xmas...

    For me we have lost a week of useful time and I begin to believe that we will not have enough time to test the scenario efficiently...

    @Arthadan are the rules synthesis could be  available ?

    I have well understood hat the map rules will be updated but what about all the other rules ?

    Without them it is difficult to share a commun vision and to study the globality of the scenario and its balance !
