  1. Personally I find this completely unnecessary. Right now, MB are perfectly working skirmish game on board, with interactive terrain and interesting and tight mechanic. Moving this to tabletop will bring nothing interesting to the game. On the contrary, it may make it more cumbersome and slow. To transfer MB to tabletop you would need to add at least: Measuring/pre-measuring distances to move/shoot/charge/engage etc. - All that right now is taken care of by spaces on board. It's more elegant, quicker and easier that way LOS Rules, LOS checks etc. - LOS is tricky to do even in board game (e.g. Conan), not to mention tabletop game. Here, again, spaces take care of this Unit cohesion - What if only part of the unit can reach forest? Or part of the unit is in water? Then either whole unit takes penalty or you treat models case-by-case and slow down the game And there is more: Units may behave completely different, so they probably should be rebalanced - would you pay for additional cards/dashboards with new stats for a game with limited availability? Since I mentioned limited availability - that is also an issue. Someone who got two sets may have advantage over another player because it allows him to field bigger units, or two units of the same type. Can you even take more than one unit of same kind? Can both players take same heroes? How do you balance around all that? It is a lot of work that ultimately may be just dead end. Original Mythic Battles, and then Mythic Battles Pantheon were design to make Wargame experience as tight and enjoyable as possible, and it works perfectly. As a wargamer I can't see anything that wargame may improve in this system. If there will be fan rules - why not, but official rules seem really unnecessary.
  2. Pro tip: If you do not change layout till next Conan KS it will be still relevant
  3. That is basically what I wanted to say, but since English is not my primary language, It may have been not that clear I think that later we will get more art at least from MB. Remember that Monolith just took MB. It will take time before they organize all things, and forum layout is probably at the end of the TO DO list.
  4. Not many things are clear right now, since it seems like Conan is really early in development. I mean, you still can vote what expansions you want to be included and a lot may change before KS. However, as far as I know it is not a reprint. More like Conan second edition. From what I gathered and remember, we can assume: New expansions - Obviously, since there is vote for them in the forums New rules for Overlord vs Overlord - it was mentioned that 2019 Conan will have same Overlord vs Overlord system as Batman Revamped rules - Rules for Batman are basically same as for Conan but with few tweaks to fit them better in Batman setting and with few improvements for base system. Improvements will be implemented in new Conan as far as I know. That is all that is known for now. If someone can add something to this list - it would be great. Personally I think that there will be: New core box with two books of Skelos New expansions New SG Old core box as add-on, possibly with Kings pledge box Old expansion as add-on Upgrade Kit for old core box as add-on - only if changes in rules will need upgraded components to be implemented in old core box. No old SG That would be most sensible from business side of things. People who already have Conan will buy the game and not loose anything (loose, as in: double the content of current edition), and new people will get full KS experience and possibility to buy old stuff. As for old SG, I assume that they will be absent, since Monolith said very clear that they will be available only during original KS, as a reward for original backers who believed and funded the game. If they appear it would be as a re sculpt (highly unlikely, since a lot of community already have most of them) or as add-on. Personally I hope that there will be less Conans in Conan
  5. First thing first: +1 for more woman. Great job Johan for compiling this list! I do hope that with this part of MB we will get more overall picture of the world after apocalypse. While I'm not that excited about Vikings (they are kind of overused in games recently) I still hope that next instalment in MB series will be about Egypt or Asian gods. And for that there is need for bigger picture of what happened. MB:R is good place to start it all up in my oppinion.
  6. Remember that English speaking community basically equals every other country that doesn't speak French so it is not worth much That being said, I do feel like French community is more open minded and less restrictive about those topics, at least that's what I got from KS campaigns and comment sections there. Forums aside, personally I think that creators have right to include everything they want in their creation. Be it naked ladies or whatever. They are creating their own product, realising their own vision and investing and risking their own money, and if you don't like it don buy it/support them.
  7. Just Dinosaur? And what about Bat computer? Or Batmobil parking space? Or Batwing landing space? And there is severe lack of Bat-space shuttle...
  8. Honestly no idea. It probably depends on sales etc.
  9. Aside from additional expansions, that are basically certain I would like to get some cosmetic/collectible pieces, that would normally be nonsensical in retail, but possible in KS. I would vote for: More Damsel in distress - It's boring to always rescue same princess. Additionally it would be fun to see Damsel in actual distress, like chained to the altar or pillar. And then, when you rescue her, you swap miniature for running version. 3D scenery or plastic tokens - 3D scenery may be hit or miss with Conan, since maps are really diverse. That means that there should be either set designed for every map or set so generic that it would fit to all maps. I think that in this case I would prefer nice plastic tokens with raised texture instead of actual scenery. Proper art book with art from both KS campaigns - I love Art Books, and Art Book from first KS campaign was really lacklustre. I hope we will get something more like Mythic Battles art book in terms of content. Proper and varied civilians - Those in Mythic Battles were really generic and bland. I would love to see proper civilians like Merchants, Villagers, Ladies of the night, Random travellers, Pict Woman etc. I think that city map populated with civilians would be GREAT opportunity for many scenarios. Not to mention it would help to populate already existing maps. Narrative miniatures - Alternative miniatures for current characters. For example: Conan rescuing Damsell in Distress, Pin Up Belit (that would actually be kind of hard to pull off since, she's already almost naked... ), Shevatas killing someone from behind etc. - I hope you get the idea. Other than that I would love to see another campaign/scenario book and in terms of gameplay it would be nice to see: Mounted warriors Living statues/golems Proper wolves - I missed on those in 1st KS and I'm glad I did. Still I would love to have designed Conan wolves instead of "borrowed" ones. EDIT: Also more maps that can be combined and multi map scenarios. Honestly, it should be standard
  10. Yes I have seen miniature from the other subject and it is awesome. But we have old saying in Poland: One Swallow do not make spring, so it is good to hear that Claustrophobia is coming along nicely, and is planned for September. That also means that I've been off only by a month in my predictions
  11. I agree. I would love to see proper artbook for Conan, like the one that they made for Mythic Battles. Maybe Book of Set will fulfill my desire.
  12. Great to see some official love for Claustrophobia! It was rather silent here, so I was getting worried that Claustrophobia might be pushed for next year. I guess that Batman takes spotlight (and a lot of time/resources) from other projects, but it's good to see that something happens wit Claustrophobia. I really hope that we can see more of it after Batman ends, so smack editors one or two times from me and get them going
  13. That is interesting question. So far we know about 5 Monolith projects: 1. Batman - Running KS this month 2. Conan - Running KS in 2019 3. Claustrophobia - Running KS in 2018 (assuming that information on forums is still correct) 4. Mythic Battles Ragnarok - Running KS in 2019 5. Mythic Battles Reprint - Running KS in 2018 From above, we can exclude MB reprint, since it is rather simple project. Probably 90% of it is basically ready for print, and last 10% are are assets not used in original KS campaign (we heard that apparently there will be few new things that were not part of original KS). That means that there are two KS campaigns planned for 2018 - Batman and Claustrophobia, and two planned for 2019 - Mythic Battles Ragnarok and Conan. Assuming that Monolith was responsible for all "backend" on (so planning, manufacturing, sculpting etc.) on Mythic Battles, it seems that they have it nailed, so they probably decided to try 2 KS/year instead of current 1KS/year formula. That would mean Batman KS now with delivery near end of the year, Claustrophobia KS somewhere near August 2018 with delivery year later, then in February 2019 we get Conan and in August 2019 Ragnarok. Plus maybe small KS for Conan/Mythic Battles compendiums along the year.
  14. That is interesting question. As far as I remember whole game was supposed to be KS Exclusive, since it would be to expensive in retail (lesson learned with Conan). I would assume it is still true, and only way to get missing items is to order them during Mythic Battles reprint KS further this year.
  15. Very interesting development! Mythic Games sells Mythic Battles so basically game that give them their name. I wonder what will be their next project then? As for the decision, it's definitely good news in terms of community and post campaign related stuff. Conan community works really well, and further development (scenarios, scenario booklets) give hope for similar post KS care for Mythic Battles. My only worry is that there will be more work for Mythic than they can chew... On top of my head: 1. Batman - Running KS this month 2. Conan - In early stage of development as far as I can tell 3. Claustrophobia - Another project in early development 4. Mythic Battles Ragnarok - I assume that same as Conan 5. Mythic Battles Reprint - To be fair this should be really easy - collect money and place order - but it will still eat time and may lead to delays on other KS campaigns But I am hopeful and wish you good luck! I think I need to see you at Spiel this year. It looks like it may be really interesting fair.
  16. I must admit, that I mostly voted for things I missed :) Objectively speaking I think that: - Core Box - Hera - Poseidon - Hephaistos - Compedium - Terrain Set Are basically must-have reprints, since they will allow all people who missed original campaign get the game. Rest, specially smaller expansions like Paolo Parentes Box or Oedipus & Sphinx are more optional. Personally I'm more curious how pledge level and SG will work. I assume that there will be 1-3 pledge levels for people who did not get the game (Base Game, Game+3 Expansions, All-in), but what about people who just want to complete their collection? For example I would like to get Hephaistos, Compedium, Terrain Set and Thermopylae so very mixed set of expansions with no clear rule about them. Also what about SG from original campaign? It kind of feels like grey area. Most of them are not marked as KS Exclusive for original campaign, but technically they will be on KS... Or maybe no SG from original KS? Maybe SG will be just next expansions to unlock? So more questions than answers for now, but I'm curiously optimistic.
  17. Dashboards with colored miniatures are way better. They would look even better if you could add cell shading effect to your renders, so it would look more like comic book.
