  1. From the album: The Shivering Hands

No wonder The Vale of Lost Women was never published during REH life, it isn't very good, in my opinion. The miniature, though, is quite cool. I really enjoyed painting its high detailed wings.
  2. I've just finished my first demon, the Demon from the Outer Dark. That miniature would look just fine in a Cthulhu themed game, like Mansions of Madness. This is where we see that REH was a friend of Howard P. Lovecraft! I should buy a new photo camera, though. One with manual focus. In the picture below, the eyes of the demon look worse than what they really look (although they aren't very well executed ). And you? What do your demons look like?
  3. @craig, this is not the community book scenario, (aka the Overlord Compendium tome 1). The Book of Set is something that was made by Monolith and not by the community. Some more info about the Community Compendium: I don't know if an English version of this compendium will be printed. Maybe @SentMa could tell you more about that specific point. As far as I know, most of the scenarii were translated into English and can be found on this forum.
  4. You're right, on the real Kickstarter, on september the fifth, you will have to select your pledge and then your country, and the shipping fee will be ADDED to the prices you're seeing on the WIP page: Some info I looked past yesterday that could be interesting for you people: the Table of content of the Compendium.
  5. @Kathulos, can you give the answer for the incorrect movie, so that I can give his point(s) to @Mekhlis and he can propose two movies to guess?
  6. Darn! I thought the first one could be Excalibur. Nice move, @Kathulos!
  7. On the French Community Forum, Erwan, from Monolith, posted a link to a WIP webpage for the Book of Set KS (the link is in the quote below).
  8. If a player is wrong when guessing a movie (or two), they has the right to guess again, as many guesses as they want, as long as someone hasn't given a correct answer.
  9. Brigitte Helm was stunning in that movie! I really liked how she played that freaky gynoid and the sweet and innocent girl defending the rights of poor people.
  10. Huh. I thought it could be Metropolis, but I didn't remember such scene in the movie, altough I saw it two years ago only. When does it occur in the story?
  11. Interesting wishes, @Crom! We know that the 2019 Conan KS will at least content new lands, and an Overlord vs Overlord system, as Matt John told us in the latest Monolith news: For now, I don't know what I wish besides new maps and new scenarii. I have still so much left to discover in Conan. A stealth system would be great, as well as mechanics related to a fog of war system. Maybe something with an evolutive map, I don't know.
  12. In the campaign, heroes may trade XPs for extra gems they will use in common, putting them on two cards. On the French-speaking forum, @Djimne had a cunning idea in order to prevent these gems to be knock over from the cards (by accident or on purpose). As I recently made one for me, I seized the opportunity to post a tutorial here. I didn't make it exactly like hers, but it's more a philosophical than a effective difference. Pay attention, people, it's rocket science time! In most addons of Conan (Black Dragons, Crossbowmen, Giant Wolves, etc...) you get these thingies, once you have removed the tiles of the unit: And in expansions (Stygia, Nordheim, Khitaï) you get blank tiles of unit: Step one: Abracadabra! Step two: Use adhesive tape on the back to ensure they'll stick together for eons. Step three: Use extra punchboard frames and paste them on the previous one (I used two of them): Step Four: With the black (or pink, or whichever colour you fancy) spray you use to base your miniatures, paint your gem holder. Wait patiently, and paint the other side. Step Five: Paste (or simply insert the cards from the campaign in your gem holder). And voilà! Optional Step: travel to France, and offer a glass of white wine with some cheese to thank Djimne for her idea (but beware of her husband ).
  13. No idea for the difficult one, but I try The Lost World by Harry O. Hoyt (1925) for the easy one.
  14. Painting eyes is always a tough moment for me. On that miniature, the face was so tiny, with few relief... I wasn't really happy with the result, even after several tries. But, I think that making eyes is worth the effort, even with miniatures that aren't meant for exhibition, but rather to play.
  15. Good luck with that project, @Mekhlis! I've started to paint mine at the end of march, and have made only sixty for now. I wonder how long it will take me to paint them all. That is, if I manage to paint them all.
  16. Nice scenery. Did you made these walls yourself, or did you buy them somewhere?
  17. You're right, @Footballzs! As stated in the rules, as you are the first one to give a proper answer, you get the points. The easy movie was Princess Mononoke (1997). Your turn!
  18. Clue for the easy movie (for @Footballzs or unexpected challengers that may not have recognized it): It's a movie directed by Miyazaki Hayao. Clue for the difficult movie: The protagonist of this recent horror movie is played by Steve Guttenberg.
  19. Nice one! Did you paint by any chance the original one as well?
  20. You're right. After all, Picts miniatures are used in Nordheim as Primitive Vanir, if memory serves me right. So they could be as well Kushites.
  21. @Matt John S, if it is the edition in which all REH stories about Conan are published by chronological order, starting with the Phoenix on the Sword, I am, indeed reading its French translation by Patrice Louinet. Currently reading the first novel of the second tome: The People of the Black Circle.
  22. Indeed, the English-speaking forum of the Overlord is a bit too calm for my taste (for now). Anyway: Easy Movie: Difficult Movie:
