  1. Many thanks for your kind comment, @Epaka. I'm glad that you like it! I must confess it's slightly better on photo than on the tabletop, as the eyes doesn't stand out very well when you're above the miniature. It works better if you hold it at the height of your own eyes.

I guess I'll paint white the exact same way: a base coat of a grey very close to white, so that the shading is done, and then highlights in pure white. I did that on the Valkyrie's pagne, and was glad with the result.

    Here's my black demon.

Working on miniatures which are mostly black is really difficult for me. You can't shade it properly (obviously) and it's quite difficult to highlight it while keeping it, well... black. This one feels a bit unfinished in my opinion, but I'll see what my players will say once it's on the tabletop.

  3. Nice miniatures. I was surprised at first that Monolith gave them two breasts, but after a short search, it appears that the story about Amazons cutting one in order to use a bow more easily was made up and that antiques depictions of the Amazons didn't show such alterations of their body.

Well, the more the merrier, I guess.

  4. Impressive shield. Looks great!

I guess I would have picked a different colour for his skin, though, in order to give him an unhealthy look, with a Rakarth Flesh, maybe. But the contrast would have been not so great with the beard. De gustibus... as the saying goes.

    Anyways, nicely done, as always.

  5. Neat! Impressive miniature, looks great in colours.

Although I don't own MBP and don't plan to, I highly second your idea to have one thread for each miniature. When I paint something for Conan, I really like to have a look on this board and on the French-speaking one in order to see how other people painted their miniature. It's an easy way to get inspiration or to have a preview of various colour schemes.

  6. And here's the miniature replacing the final meeple: the Ghost.

I found it at Reaper Miniatures. It may be a bit tall for that game, but I was looking for a ghost without a weapon, and when I stumbled upon that miniature, I found it so gorgeous that I bought it right away. Well, instead of one ghost, the adventurer will have to escort to its tomb a horde of skellies. Good enough.

Painting on translucent plastic was quite stressful. I couldn't make mistake without grabbing a cutter in order to scrub away the excess of paint and it was sometimes tedious. I wasn't sure about what I would do with the flames/smoke, and I finally went for an edge of light green, but didn't apply shades. They were messing too much with transparency and added a kinda dirty look to the flames, that displeased me. In my opinion, those edges add to the readability of the miniature, so I'll stick with it, even if it isn't as neat as I wished. It will look good enough on the tabletop.

  7. Hi there and welcome, Tony!

Since two years now, I use Molotow Premium Spray to prime my miniatures. I like them better than the Citadel one who had sometimes strange effects when I was priming when the weather was too hot.

I have currently a 400ml spray can Grey Blue Middle (#226, Art.-Nr. 327178) but you can pick any color that suits you better.

They've got varnish too, if you plan to use one after you've painted your miniatures. Mine is called clear coat matt (#253, Art.-Nr. 327313).

  8. Well, I'm not sure I agree with you on that point, @garbetsp.

You're right when you say that casting a spell isn't affected by hindering, but blocking :bloqueur: has nothing to do with hindering.

On the Movement Skills card, the description of the blocking states that:

    Quote

Enemy characters without Evasive cannot move out of this character's area.

So I'd say that only characters with the evasive skill (which is useful against hindering and blocking) may leave the area where an enemy with the blocking skill. In any other case, the enemy creature with blocking must be killed (or leave the area) in order to move your character, and teleportation cannot help you to flee an enemy with blocking.

Well, my players and I have always understood that rule that way. Maybe we're wrong, though.

  9. Hi there and welcome around!

I guess the first part of this tuto written by @Roolz may be of some help regarding this matter:

On 12/24/2018 at 10:56 AM, Roolz said:

1- Deburring, washing, then spray-prime with Flesh (Barbarian Flesh AP spray primer).

Deburring (removing mold lines) is a tedious but necessary step: remaining mold lines are an eyesore once the paint-job is complete.

After deburring, tiny bits of plastic and roughness often remain on the mini. To correct this and get smooth surfaces, just take a small stiff brush, soak it in acetone and brush it on these areas. It's a trick from the famous Rémy Tremblay, it works quite well on PVC minis (liquid glue for model kits, as used by Martin G., also works very well!).

Washing (with soapy water) eliminates any trace of finger grease deposited during deburring and ensures good primer adhesion.

    I hope this help!
