Bawon Samdi Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Yes that was Bound. I love that movie. My wife always thinks that I watch it for the lesbian sex scenes but I actually really like the plot ! IMO that movie doesn't get the recognition it deserves. And yes that was Rush. The proof that some american can understand formula one and not just IndyCar. The theme was kind of "unknow movies from famous directors". Or maybe movies with a short title, that works too. OK, that was too easy. Next time i will explore african cinema ! 4 hours ago, Not Quite Dead said: broth... sisters. You can't go wrong with "siblings" ! 1 1
Not Quite Dead Posted September 25, 2017 Author Posted September 25, 2017 One idea leading to another, here are two new movies to guess: Easy one: Difficult one:
Mekhlis Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 The Purple Rose of Cairo: Easy Johnny Secchino: Hard
Not Quite Dead Posted September 26, 2017 Author Posted September 26, 2017 You're right for the easy movie. Although you spot the right actor (and director), you're mistaken about the second movie: it's The Monster (1994), an Italian-French comedy It's your turn!

Just because a great plot is hidden beneath two hot and very intense lesbians writhing/grinding/gasping/moaning on a bare mattress in a slight heatwave - my wife doesn't see it either...... (plus she knows that ever since Key West, Jennifer Tilley makes me drool uncontrollably and forget whatever I was........................................................) 2
Skull Face Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 The Easy one is, 1984. With John Hurt and Richard Burton
Not Quite Dead Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 @Skull Face Damn! I knew I've seen that couple somewhere! Wasn't that movie in colors, though?
Mekhlis Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Both easy and hard guesses are correct - I'll leave it to Not Quite to figure the scoring. "1984" was in colour. Good job, guys.
Not Quite Dead Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 As usual, only the first correct answer gives points, so it's @Footballzs' turn. Stay tuned, @Skull Face: you'll get the next ones!
Footballzs Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) Easy Hard Edited September 29, 2017 by Footballzs
Not Quite Dead Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 First one is Crocodile Dundee II. Second one may be The Walkabout.
Footballzs Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Unfortunately you incorrect with both.
Not Quite Dead Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) Damn! I was sure that the This, is a knife. scene was from the second opus. Edited September 29, 2017 by Not Quite Dead
Not Quite Dead Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 Well, no idea for the difficult one. Out of the blue, I'll try Tideland (2005). If memory serves me right, there's something about a railroad, in that movie, and big, yellow, empty plains. The easy one is (and this time I'm one hundred percent pretty pretty sure) Crocodile Dundee (1986).
Footballzs Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Yes you were correct for the easy one. The difficult one is Wake In Fright. An Aussie movie from 1971. Paints a rather depressing picture of outback life. That is the opening shot showing a one room school and a pub on opposite sides of a rail line. The movie is about to be remade. Anyway back to you now. 1
Footballzs Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Easy is Basic Instinct, hard is What we do in the Shadows.
Not Quite Dead Posted October 6, 2017 Author Posted October 6, 2017 Yes it is. I really loved the second one, but the French version is just awful. French-speakers MUST see that in English, with subtitle if necessary.
Footballzs Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 (edited) Yes, the second one was a strange horror comedy from New Zealand. Worth watching if you like unusual humour. Anyway it's my turn again. easy Hard Edited October 6, 2017 by Footballzs 1
Stonewolf Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 The first is Bram Stoker's Dracula, " dee children ov dee night... what beautiful music dey maaaaaake" The second is the original Nosferatu
Not Quite Dead Posted November 19, 2017 Author Posted November 19, 2017 Well, it's been about one month without news of @Stonewolf on that topic, now. If you don't mind, I'll wait one more week and then propose to motion pictures to guess, just in case there is still someone around here wishing to play.
