  1. A question regarding the event "Bestial Haste" As the Overlord, I was thinking that if one unit meets a Hero during this free movement, it is allowed to attack it, just like they do in regular activations. My players thought on the contrary that only movement was allowed here. After a short discussion, I agreed with them, but I was curious to learn how you do play this specific event...
  2. A question regarding this map that arose yesterday evening while we were playing The Final Ritual: Is it possible to get around the fences of the village using the two spots marked in orange on the map below?
  3. If I play it, I'll be glad to give a feed back. I'm quite surprised with the Picts being led by a Kushite sorcerer, though. Sounds a bit weird due to their geographic locations.
  4. From the album: The Shivering Hands

A short break from paintings Conan miniatures, with these two barricades.
  5. Interesting tool, @Bazman! Never heard of it. Thanks for posting a link here.
  6. What does a time of high adventures look like with an unpainted hero? Here's my Conan. I'd be pleased to see your Cimmerian!
  7. From the album: The Shivering Hands

The first hero I painted for this game. I'm quite happy with it, even if my son (six years old) said when he saw the miniature (I quote:) "His eyes suck." I'm still thinking at his punishment... Well, I guess two weeks of chores without food and water will do.
  8. Fourth session of painting today: we started the orcs! I remember doing my first dry brushing on these miniatures, back in the 90s, and my amazement at the result on their chainmails...
  9. From the album: The Shivering Hands

Some stuff I bought on etsy in order to have nicer looking barricades. I just painted this one this morning.
  10. Your hyenas should be quite stealthy in the stygian deserts, @Doucefeuille! I really like your pattern of colors!
  11. Thanks, @Arthadan! I didn't know about this website and it looks gorgeous! I should definitely have a closer look at some of their product, for Conan or for Heroquest!
  12. The Adventure pack and the Door pack made me wish to have more setting in 3D for Conan. I thought it could be nice to have a topic here that show us website were such things can be obtained. I'd like to recommand you TabletopFurniture. There's a bunch of Russians there making very fine job with detailed settings for 28mm miniatures that should make playing Conan even more enjoyable for the eyes: And you? Did you stumble on shop selling nice stuff to pimp Conan?
  13. Today, second session of painting for the goblins... and we started the last six. I hope we'll manage to keep up that pace.
  14. Some time ago, @Pallantides explained me what were the different species of lotus and their respective effects. Here's a summary in English of what he told me: Black lotus (from the jungles of Khitaï) is poisonous. Its effects can vary, due to its form (powder, liquid) or its quantities. It can be a lethal poison, a soporific drug, give hallucinations, and so on. It's the lotus that Howard uses most of time, and with this plant, nearly anything can happen. Yellow lotus is a soporific drug, very useful for trance, visions, hallucinations. It comes from Khitaï too. Golden lotus is a very powerful cure, for wounds as well as diseases. It can heal almost anything, but is of the utmost rarity. Its origin is unknown. Purple lotus can paralyse. The scope of the paralysis varies depending on the plant's form (powder, liquid, incense, etc.). It comes from haunted swamps in southern Stygia. Grey lotus is a narcotic very rare, that drive mad or berserk the people who absorb it. It is found in the Swamp of the Dead, beyond Khitaï. With it, no one can escape madness and death.
  15. The hyenas are the first miniatures I have painted in Conan. I lately painted the sixth hyena that comes with the Adventure Pack. Fun fact: Picts don't have veterinaries among them: they have tanners. What do your hyenas look like?
  16. I hesitate to acquire Secret Ponchos on PC. I'd like to play it with my brother or friends. But I've heard that they are sadly very few players on this game. Have you by any chance ever played this? Do you recommand it? Are you still playing it? Is this game worth it if you are only two to play it? For the one who haven't heard of it, here's a gameplay video:
  17. @SentMa has provided the community with a pack including most of the fonts of Conan rulebooks. You can download it here.
  18. Nice ideas. Especially with the interest of Howard for Black Lotus and similar plants he uses in his stories. We already had the background, and now we have rules according to it. It could be interesting to use them in scenarii. Maybe a rule about hallucinogenic poison. A zone effect that would force characters crossing it to move towards and attack the closest people around, regardless of their identity: Hallucinogenic spores: when a miniature enters a zone (one square on the map), its player must roll one or one if it has the skill or . If they get one or two sucess, nothing happens this time, it they got no success, the character must move toward the closest miniature around (allie or enemy) and attack it. If they are several miniatures on the same square, or if an ally or an enemy is at the same distance, the player must attack an allie instead of an enemy. The movement toward the targeted people must be payed with gems, if it exceed the free move of the miniature, AND the player must use at least two gems for the attack. If the player is short on gems, the move and the attack will occur on the next turn (no action can be played with this character as long as the attack hasn't be resolved).
  19. You may have noticed that some of your miniatures were bent, when you opened your Conan box, or maybe you stepped by accident on Conan, after their player kept killing all your minions with his damned Circular Strike. Fortunately, on the French Community forum, Lhextase and Dakhon have shared a way to straighten bent miniatures. As I didn't know it, I thought it could be useful to repost it here. This is Lhextase tip: You have to use a bowl full of hot tap water, and a bowl full of cold tap water. Then, you put your bent figurine in the hot water for circa 1 minute, pick it up (hopefully without burning your fingers), straighten it with your fingers until it is in the wished position, and put it in the cold water bowl while holding it in the correct angle during circa 1 minute 30 seconds. If you're not happy with the result, you may start again. Dahkon recommands you to use boiled water and silicone prong to get the same result. I found a video that shows how to proceed: Some hot water, some cold water, hocus pocus ... and voilà : it's good as new!
  20. For me, these days, it's something like: - The last brush stroke on a miniature (currently finishing the Picts); - Play with friends, regardless online or at home (currently Conan (obviously), GTA V, Armello, Heroquest); - Share with my son things I liked as a boy (currently reading Johan and Peewit to him). And for you Overlordians, what's best in life?
  21. Hi there! So far, I've read a dozen of Conan stories, and I was wondering which one is your favourite... I've found the list of the stories written by Howard in this wiki. As one cannot give more than 20 choices for one question when it comes to poll, I had to ask two times the same question. Please pick your three favourite stories and, if you want to, tell us what you liked in them. It could be interesting to share which story you liked the less, and why. In each case, the use of spoilers could be a good idea.
  22. From the album: The Shivering Hands

This miniature is perhaps the one I like the less in the game. I guess I could have painted it with a better contrast.
  23. From the album: The Shivering Hands

I like the contrast between the black sockets and the white eyes.
