I actually wrote a chapter on this topic for the Modiphius book. I'm not sure how necessary it is at this point in time, so it may not be included. I wrote it before the game even shipped. We shall see. I think for novices this advice is great. Your points strongly echo mine.

I would love to see a Conan/Cthulhu Wars crossover! Both games are my current painting projects. I think Hyborian Age faction for CW would be great. Thaug as a GOO, hello?! I used some CW minins as proxies for my Conan playtests as well, so it's not an unfamiliar concept to me.

@Arthadan Wow! This is an ambitious project. Excllent work all around, y'all. I've been buried in other work post-ks, but I'm loving what I'm seeing. I'm hoping to catch up with what everyone is doing soon.

I love the '82 film almost as much as Howard's works and despite my love for Howard's works. It's a stunning film on so many levels, and in so many areas. Almost time for a re watch.

@tet2brick cool. I'm guessing since the book isn't even out yet, they won't be up for it. As for the tiles, they may not want to release them for free. But if the files are small and not excellent quality, it may not step on their toes and having new scenarios online may actually help sell their tiles.

@Crom and all, As we get closer to the release of the Modiphius book, I'll see what I can do about getting permission to use them there.

I'll not suffer such an opinion. He won't get any of my time. I've played the game. You may not personally enjoy it, but it's absolutely solid and completely tactical.

@Mekhlis, move to Nova Scotia, and you can have a spot at my table :)

@Arthadan, Conan, in my mind's eye, will always be Buscema's.

@Not Quite Dead, you are correct, sir. The stories are presented in the order they were published.

@Not Quite Dead, You need to get your hands on the 3 Del Rey Conan books and read them all! Like, do it. Yesterday. Hurry!

Gah! If only it was in English! You all know my French is poor (non-existent, really).

more than any other medium, comic books have been Conan's constant home over the years. What are you favorite runs, artists, writers etc?
I'll start the converstation by sharing this post I put up in the Conan Gaming Group on Facebook:
I finally finished Wolves Beyond the Border, after having misplaced it. You really need to check this out if you haven't. I did not enjoy all the output of Dark Horse's Conan but the dream team of Timothy Truman, Tomas Giorello, and Jose Villarrubia has created some of, if not, THE best Conan comics ever. Here, Truman cleverly weaves 3 of Howard's most famous characters together using a particular item found in a particular story. Howard was rockin' a shared universe before it was the cool thing to do, and clearly Truman understands this. I shall not spoil that for you and encourage you to read this collection of you haven't already. Beautiful stuff.

Knut Haugen's music for Age of Conan and Conan Exiles are superb, as well. We all know and love Basil's music from the 80s films, but not everyone is aware of Knut's work which really capture's Basil's feel while (as I see it) continuing where he left off.

I've recently discovered Paleowolf, and though it's less musical and more ambient, it really gives a great feel. Sometimes you want something that blends into the background a little more and merely suggests a tone.

@Florentin, that sounds like the proper thing to me!
