    Online scenario editor

Is the scenario builder still being updated? I've just started to get into building some scenarios and noticed things like the hero "Skulthus" should be "Skuthus" in the editor, a lack of a "spellbook" item, no Corinthian Skeleton tile or map tokens (from Mythic Battles Pandora's Box iirc, and the Hoplite map tokens are only grey (the tiles are only red and green). Is it worth posting a list of these minor errors here, somewhere else, or don't bother because they won't be addressed?

    Nailed it on my estimate!

    Nemesis: this ain’t E.T.!

@Ken, we actually just got the game to the table last weekend for the first time. Loved it. So thematic and cinematic. I have plans to build a tricked out game board next, I’ll be sure to post pics when I finish building it.

[Strategy] In the clutches of the picts

Yes, he'll potentially damage himself and any other friendlies in the same area. Also, he would kill the Princess, so it's a No Go to use that to clear out any space she is in.

    Compendium 2En & 3EN.

Ok, glad to hear about the compendium. Wasn't sure about what to do to get the invite.
  10. I just spotted this post, so maybe I come too late. Anyway... I didn't know this scenario. The french version is a bit confusing too. I believe the 1st sentence "The sorcerer uses necromancy and tentacles come out of the water" is basically flavor text (= useless, rule-wise). The OL gets 10 Reinforcement Points that he can use in various ways: - bring back killed tentacles and/or undead (the cost in RPs is indicated on the tiles, as usual) - bring back killed bone golem (1 RP per Life Point) - move tentacles on any water area (1 RP per tentacle) (it also means that the OL cannot use RPs to bring back killed bossonian archers) The rest of the text seems fairly clear to me.
  11. I played this one the other night, as Overlord, and had the exact same thoughts. It is an INSANELY difficult win condition, and I think there must be some sort of mistranslation or combination of different versions. In the win condition it states that at least one hero must survive and score 5 points, but there is no way to score five points without all 4 heroes surviving (and at least one Aesir). Even just changing it to two points per hero on the hill would go a long way toward balancing things, though it still leaves Niord with a big target on his back. As for marking spaces '2' and '3,' we read that as something to do with elevation levels, not points. The majority of the map being an assumed 1, the first ring of the hill higher at a 2, and the crown being the highest at a 3. From that, we ruled that 3 could see and be seen from anywhere, but blocked line of sight to spaces behind it, and level 2 would block lines of sight to level 1 or any level 2's behind them (a lot of our players also play Heroclix, and this is similar to their system). This doesn't entirely mesh, since the rules state that the hero starting areas are elevated as well, and they do not have numbers, but it worked out well for us (other than me winning on the last turn by killing the final Aesir...). It definitely added some extra strategy for them, since otherwise the map is completely open for ranged attacks (we also decided to houserule replacing a unit of Pict warriors with Pict archers, to keep things interesting, gave the scenario more strategic flair).

I love this game and your painted minis! (I haven't gotten around to painting mine yet, though.)

  14. What I really really would like to see is a CtB Movie Expansion with minis resembling the characters from the first Arnold Conan movie. That would make my day.

I think part of the problem is you're taking feedback from just about every social media site. Have it all feed into a single spot of your choice with clear instructions on expectations. So then involving crowd sourcing editing is all managed from a single site, and there's a single place to reply. All other announcements feed back to that central site. Next folks will post their feedback in the other places, and have the social media manager thank them and reiterate the instructions to post in the central place for management and tracking.

@Roolz Thanks for the info. This is really excellent. The hero board template completely suits my needs for this project. I would like to echo Ken's sentiment regarding your contributions to the game, the LOS maps have saved me a lot of time while playing with my sometimes rather competitive gaming-group. Regards, Pieter

By the way, @Roolz, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of your contributions to the game. Your line-of-sight maps have a permanent place in my scenario printout book.

@pietervreeburg There are many useful resources available that might be of use, particularly: Tileset scenario map editor (contains many images): https://the-overlord.com/index.php?/files/file/5-editeur-de-maps-pour-scénarios/ Someone made english language text files for this editor here: https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/141971/scenario-editor-english-language-files You might also check the scenario editor on conan-scenarios.com, it contains a ton of things: https://www.conan-scenarios.com/index.php Fonts : https://the-overlord.com/index.php?/files/file/20-polices-decriture-conan/ Editable pdf scenario template : https://the-overlord.com/index.php?/files/file/23-pdf-éditable-mise-en-page-scénarios/ Editable word and publisher scenario templates : https://the-overlord.com/index.php?/files/file/33-fichiers-word-et-publisher-pour-scénarios/ Hero board photoshop template (contains all icons, including skills) : https://the-overlord.com/index.php?/files/file/21-modèle-fiche-héros-hero-board-template/ The same in .xcf, GIMP-friendly : https://the-overlord.com/index.php?/files/file/32-fiche-héros-éditable-pour-gimp/
  21. I'm trying to find any special rules for placing demons but actually can't. So this means standard rules apply and demons can be summoned only on tiles: 1, 15 (34), 24, 27? What if those tiles will be covered by the opposite ones? Only tile 15/34 will be used as a spawn point? Or the rule is spawn demons wherever you want if the tile is desecrated and without Western heroes?
  22. Hi everyone, Thank you for your feedback! We implemented changes based on the feedback here, on the Overlord's forums (english and french), by PM, on BGG and on the MBP Facebook page. As we are going to print with the rule book, further notes will be compiled online. The rulebook has been despatched to the printers, BUT we welcome you to continue to contribute online. We are eager you can lay your hand on this game for you to appropriate it like you did before. Long live 1.5.

Feedback is being taken very seriously indeed - Hold the Line. (please) - Monolith is very aware of the situation and are endeavouring to instigate processes that improve the communication and game line editing and feedback loops - Silence in this case is because of focus on the issue - rather than ignoring it -

@Ken Thanks for your reply. I will see what I can manage. My photoshop skills are rather lacking at the moment, but this is probably just the right incentive to start learning 🙂 I will share the results here after a while. Kind regards, Pieter

Fantastic! I always say that I paint for the game table, not a display case. But this kind of work i would call painting for a freakin’ museum... Huzzah!
