Paint and scenery
I've just finished my first demon, the Demon from the Outer Dark. That miniature would look just fine in a Cthulhu themed game, like Mansions of Madness. This is where we see that REH was a friend of Howard P. Lovecraft!
I should buy a new photo camera, though. One with manual focus. In the picture below, the eyes of the demon look worse than what they really look (although they aren't very well executed ).
And you? What do your demons look like?
Here's a few of my demons... Generally following the color schemes of the game art. As always, learning to be more patient and precise. Still fairly sloppy, but I'm working at it.
Nice miniatures, @Epaka!
My favorite is the second one you made. I'll try to do mine like yours when I'll paint it. (Around 2024, following my schedule. )
Haha! Too true NQD... I was feeling good about the pace of my painting for the game, but then the three big box Expansions arrived, and then summer arrived.... Well, Cromdammit, I'm getting back at it asap!!
I didn't follow the color pattern of the artwork on the Earth Demon, but I got my inspiration from one of @Budala miniatures of Dark Demon that you may see here:
Instead of a dirt/earth/rock effect, I wished to get make it looks like as if it was made of obsidian with lava underneath. I'm quite happy with the result.
I've just finished the Swamp demon. I tried to made it following @Epaka's work. I'm not very glad with the result, as my contrast aren't that good. Epaka's miniature looks far better than mine, but... whatever! this one is done, and there are still 276 miniatures waiting to be painted, so...
I like it! Very earthy and has a more realistic palette than my version.
Finally back on the painting train. 🙂
Here is one of my demons.
Here's my outer dark demon
Fantastic work @rhogg27184! Makes me want to re-do mine... ☹️
Thanks Epaka, must admit i borrowed heavily from your colour schemes for the outer dark demon.
@rhogg27184, well, with all my minis I’ve been mostly following the color schemes of the game art. Of course, some interpretation is always needed. As I am still learning how best to paint minis I have realized that anything which is mostly black needs some kind of highlight colors just to make it pop. Gotta say though, you definitely improved on my efforts.
Took some direction from @rhogg27184's efforts, especially the claws.
Wow. This one is really cool, @garbetsp.
The colors are great and the wings and the claws are stunning.
