  1. CONAN - The Liberator "I had prepared myself to take the crown, not to hold it. In the old free days all I wanted was a sharp sword and a straight path to my enemies. Now no paths are straight and my sword is useless. When I overthrew Numedides, then I was the Liberator—now they spit at my shadow." - The Phoenix on the Sword CONAN - The Liberator is a fanmade solo/co-op mode campaign for Monolith's Conan, charting Conan's rise to power as King of Aquilonia. The six scenarios take Conan and his companions from the deadly streets of Tarantia, through the Dungeons of Sorrow and the depths of the Pictish Wilderness, to his uprising against the cruel King Nemedides. This campaign requires the Barbarian or King Pledge, and two sets of Modiphius Tiles; Forbidden Places & Pits of Horror and Perilous Ruins & Forgotten Cities (the same tile sets required for the Monolith Sourcebook campaign). Several scenarios also include optional substitutions that make use of other Conan expansions. December 2022 marks the 90th anniversary of the release of the first Conan story, The Phoenix on the Sword, in which a newly crowned King Conan looks to hold on to his throne. What better way to mark that anniversary than to set the Cimmerian on the throne yourself? Conan The Liberator is available in 2 formats: 1 - PDF for web viewing and home printing: CONAN_The Liberator - Full PDF.pdf 2 - Hardcover Edition - this is two PDF files, one for the cover and the second for the interior content that you can send to a print-on-demand service for a hardback book. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to use Lulu, if you choose them as your print-on-demand service. CONAN_The Liberator - Cover.pdf CONAN_The Liberator - Interior.pdf A big thank you to everyone who helped playtest and develop ideas for this campaign. Crom doesn't care if you enjoy this campaign, but I do, so please leave any feedback here. - Barny "Zombocom" Skinner Hardcover Printing Instructions for Lulu Since this is a free, fan-made book, I am not morally or legally allowed to set up a print on demand distribution. Which means you will need to set up an account with a print on demand company and upload files for printing (for personal use only). The directions below are for the company Lulu, but you are free to use any print on demand company you choose. Go to lulu.com and create an account. Under the CREATE tab, click the PRINT BOOKS option. Click the button START YOUR PRINT BOOK Enter your login credentials In the START YOUR PROJECT section, choose PRINT BOOK In the SELECT YOUR GOAL section, choose PRINT YOUR BOOK. (Do NOT select Publish your book for sale on Amazon. You will get sued. 🙂 ) In the BOOK DETAILS section, enter a project title of your choice. I recommend CONAN - The Liberator. Enter a language and CATEGORY, which is required; why not choose Gaming? Click the DESIGN YOUR PROJECT button at the bottom of the page to proceed to the Design page In the INTERIOR FILE UPLOAD section, upload the file named CONAN_The Liberator - Interior.pdf Wait for the file to upload and normalize. This can take a few minutes. When the upload finishes, you will see some warnings. Like most warnings in life, feel free to ignore these. In the BOOK SPECIFICATIONS section, the BOOK SIZE AND PAGE COUNT should already be pre-filled. In the INTERIOR COLOR section, choose COLOR PREMIUM for the best quality color. In the PAPER TYPE section, choose 80# COATED WHITE for the best paper quality. In the BOOK BINDING section, choose HARDCOVER. Feel free to choose a different binding if you want. In the COVER FINISH section, choose GLOSSY or MATTE, your choice. Wait a moment for the PRINT COST to load. This is a printing fee for Lulu, and I do not receive a penny of this, nor does Monolith. In the DESIGN YOUR COVER section, make sure the UPLOAD COVER FILE option is selected. Upload the file named CONAN_The Liberator - Cover.pdf After a minute, the PREVIEW will load. This preview will give you a basic idea of what the book will be like, but it is just a preview. When you are ready, click the REVIEW BOOK link at the bottom. This brings you to a page where you can review the final specifications. Click the checkbox next to CONFIRM BOOK SPECIFICATIONS AND FILES Click the ADD TO CART button when it becomes enabled Click the CART icon at the top of the page and make the purchase. The shipping will vary depending where you are located. There are almost always discount codes of at least 15% available online - do a quick search! Feel free to print a copy for yourself or your friends, but DO NOT PRINT COPIES FOR SALE. Note: The hardback book you receive from Lulu will not be perfect. There might be alignment issues with the binding, scratches, the interior margins might be tight, and the endsheets will be a boring white.
  2. Whispers from Stygia "Know, O Prince, that in the time when Conan the Cimmerian sat upon the Throne of Aquilonia there arose whispers from Stygia. Whispers of a scheming sorcerer whose black heart was set upon vengeance..." Whispers from Stygia is a campaign designed by the Conan Overlord Community at the-overlord.net. It requires the Core game, as well as the following expansions: Stygia, Khitai, Nordheim, Yogah of Yag, and the Crossbowmen. The outcome of each scenario will determine how well equipped the heroes and overlord are when they meet in the final scenario, which will determine the winner. 3. As promised, here is the Sands of Despair campaign. Finally, I had to do the translation alone, so corrections are certainly to be made, do not hesitate to tell me which ones. Conan and his companions are mercenaries in the pay of the King of Iranistan. They came to reinforce the ranks of an army tasked to crush the dissident town of Kushaf. For a month, its governor no longer sends any tax or troops to the capital. The king's army is advancing towards its objective, sure of its superiority, advancing at a forced march into the trap. Contains: 15 scenarios, 3 new game boards, 9 new equipment cards, 6 new unit tiles, This campaign requires the Barbarian pledge, Kithai, Nordheim and Stygia expansions, as well as the Kushite Witch Hunter packs, and the Crossbowmen. UPDATE : V3.1.1 fix tiny errors in scenario 6. V3.1 fix some errors. V3 is here, hardbook cover version ! - No extra stuff (maps, tiles, card, tokens) to print. - Scenario 6 " The kushite smuglers" has been rewritten. - Some graphical improvements and some text corrections. - Include some tiles, maps and models from Conan : the Conqueror. 5. Solo/Coop - 1-3 players – Difficulty: Normal Batman, Blue Bird, and Spoiler face Jonathan Crane a.k.a Scarecrow. The villain is scheming to engineer a super toxin in order to contaminate Gotham City's water supply! Hi! I created a solo/coop campaign for Batman. It is a four Mission campaign, which can also be played independently. It uses Conan’s solo/coop rules: http://www.monolithedition.com/download/Conan/Rulebook/ConanTheConqueror_Solo-Rules_WIP-EN.pdf These rules are really simple, but require scenarios designed for them. Here’s a quick summary: Prepare X tokens numbered from 1 to X, with a common backside. X being the number of tiles in the River. You can use Conan’s numbered tokens (if you own Conan), or any kind of generic numbered tokens, or playing cards: On the Villain’s turn, activate 3 tiles randomly, as follows: -Draw a numbered token, activate the matching tile in the River and the corresponding miniatures (if there are no miniature associated with the tile, discard the token and draw another one), then set the token aside, face-up. -Repeat until you have activated 3 tiles (when all tokens are face-up, shuffle them). Each Villain miniature of the tile will try to attack. If only one Hero can be attacked, they will be. The miniature will Move to attack, if it has to. The miniature will act and move along the path of least resistance. It will also try to minimize the penalties (hindering) and maximize the bonus. Unless otherwise specified in the Mission special rules: If there are several possible targets, choose the Weakest Hero (the one with the fewest Energy cubes in Reserve zone, in case of tie the one with the most cubes in Wounds zone, in case of tie player’s choice). If no Hero can be attacked, the miniature will Move towards the Weakest one. When specified in the Mission special rules, Boss and/or Elite tiles will typically target the Strongest Hero (the one with the most Energy cubes in Reserve zone, in case of tie the one with the fewest cubes in Wounds zone, etc.). Missions are translated with the help of @blapo and @Roolz City of Terrors – Part 1: Evil Encounter The Heroes must prevent the world's leading experts in toxins, poison and pheromones from teaming up together to concoct a super toxin in an abandoned subway station. Mission 1, translated version 3 (27/01/2021) : Solo_Coop_Evil_Encounter_v3.pdf City of Terrors – Part 2: Factory Smoke The Heroes will have to stop the production of the toxin which Scarecrow was able to develop anyway (remote meetings, duh…). Second mission, translated (05/05/2021). Solo_Coop_factory_smoke_v1.pdf City of Terrors – Part 3: Deadly Waters Scarecrow, taking advantage of the fact that the Heroes were busy stopping the plant’s fumes, had two truckloads of the product moved out. His men are unloading the drums on Crime Alley, to contaminate the city's water supply. Solo_Coop_deadly waters v1.pdf City of Terrors – Part 4: The Formula While the Heroes' intervention averted a city-wide catastrophe, Scarecrow still managed to contaminate some areas of Gotham. The best response is to recover the antidote to the toxin, which Scarecrow's henchmen have been using. But the Court of Owls, realizing the financial and strategic value of possessing the antidote, has made a deal with Scarecrow, and the formula is now safe in one of the Owls’ crooked banks. The Heroes will have to recover it the hard way... Fourth mission translated (15/10/2021 not reviewed). Solo_Coop_the_formula_v7.pdf Enjoy!

  8. Who do you pair with Oracle for her henchmen skill? Most of her missions have her deep in the Batcave. Thematically, I just cannot see her giving up the cave to a bunch of patrolmen. The batbots are elite (and usually already in mission). I want to give her the bats but they just seem so weak. Will I just have to wait a year for the Robins, or should I just have her recruit some drones? I wish there was a weaker tile for the bat-bots like there is for Robins. That would be super helpful. What do you all do?
  9. An Unfortunate Interruption is sort of an outtake from Whispers From Stygia. Early on we wanted to include a couple of sidequests, to involve more authors and to add to the replayability of the campaign. The idea was nixed as we had our hands full with the core campaign. This has been written for a while and I just want to put it out there as an option to enhance Whispers From Stygia or to encourage you to give it another play through. Enjoy. 10. This is a Campaign I create for the Queen of the Black Coast as a campaign. I tried to be as close a possible to the source material, and to do that I had to include an unofficial map to represent the jungle in which the ruins are located. You could download the map and print it from https://www.conan-scenarios.com/customMaps.php. Thanks to Franzi, the creator of such a gorgeous map, for doing it. Also, I would like to thanks to Rober E. Howard for creating this world, and as an homage to him, I used some quotes from the original story that better depict the scenarios. The campaign is made of 4 scenarios that are played in order. At the end of every one, the winning side gets an award for winning, but also, the losing side gets an award too. I used that system to create an artificial handicap so neither side feels he has already lost the campaign from the beginning. The resolution of the last scenario decides the winning side. I hope you enjoy it and all feedback is welcome. Queen of the Black Coast I.pdf Queen of the Black Coast II.pdf Queen of the Black Coast III.pdf Queen of the Black Coast IV.pdf
  11. The YouTube-Channel Geekeriki plays the campaign "The Legend of the Devil in Iron" and you can decide what to buy for XP or which mission to play. The videos can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toNRrAFw5kw or in the BGG-video section of the expansion. Have fun with it. (Videos are in German only, sowwy. )

  16. Hi everyone, We ran into an interesting question in this scenario. The event tile gives two options. One of them is titled, "At Your Command: The Overlord can invert two tiles in the river." We had some difficulty interpreting the word, "Invert". It would seem to literally suggest that you could flip a couple of tiles in the river over to prevent the players from getting the XP for killing the tile, however, it's not clear what you would do with models that are left on the board when you invert the tile. I couldn't find this effect defined anywhere in the rules. Also, it would seem to be more efficient to simply reinforce those tiles using the other option (which gives you 3 RP's). That got us to thinking that it may be an awkward translation from "switch the position of two tiles in the river". That would seem to be a more beneficial effect and less ambiguous to implement. Can we get a ruling from Monolith? How do you guys play it? Thanks, Cliff
  17. After my chat with the guys at your stand at the expo and trying to get across my excitement in a slightly shrill way, I wanted to offer some feedback and potential ideas for characters and scenarios for the game. Character suggestions:- Bar the obvious suggestions of all of the Robins, I would suggest long time Batman fanatics would be really pleased to see Stephanie Brown (aka Spoiler) as a character would be very fun. The second and potentially more controversial suggestion for inclusion is Azrael as either a good guy or a bad guy depending on the campaign requirement. The Azrael/Batman suit from the Knightfall arc is one of the defining moments in Batmans history. Moving on to something a bit easier, I would like to suggest extra villains to potentially be in the game:- Lincoln March and the Court with his henchmen being the Talons. These are a relatively new addition to Batmans rogues gallery but have taken off in an instant because of how menacing they are, being essentially zombie ninja assassins. This would be nice saved for the hardest scenarios in the game! Lincoln March in his Owlman attire would be a pretty sweet miniature too! My second suggestion for a villain is another relative newcomer to the rogues gallery of the Batman:- Professor Pyg. His macabre fascination with making everyone perfect for the Mother of Thorns verges on horror. He always seems to have a faceless horde of Dollotrons (people castrated and made uniform by Pyg) and a penchant for the dramatic. Hes also very quickly become a favourite after his appearances in the Arkham Knight video game. Final villain suggestion is to ask in Doctor Simon Hurt. Dr Hurt worked against Dick Grayson as the Batman and resurfaced again recently in the Nightwing comics. He is Professor Pygs sponsor and is the follower of the demon bat Barbatos . He has been an unusual addition to Batmans rogues gallery in recent years but has made Dick Graysons life a living hell. Hoping other people have suggestions but these are what I would personally enjoy seing.
  18. In the campaign, heroes may trade XPs for extra gems they will use in common, putting them on two cards. On the French-speaking forum, @Djimne had a cunning idea in order to prevent these gems to be knock over from the cards (by accident or on purpose). As I recently made one for me, I seized the opportunity to post a tutorial here. I didn't make it exactly like hers, but it's more a philosophical than a effective difference. Pay attention, people, it's rocket science time! In most addons of Conan (Black Dragons, Crossbowmen, Giant Wolves, etc...) you get these thingies, once you have removed the tiles of the unit: And in expansions (Stygia, Nordheim, Khitaï) you get blank tiles of unit: Step one: Abracadabra! Step two: Use adhesive tape on the back to ensure they'll stick together for eons. Step three: Use extra punchboard frames and paste them on the previous one (I used two of them): Step Four: With the black (or pink, or whichever colour you fancy) spray you use to base your miniatures, paint your gem holder. Wait patiently, and paint the other side. Step Five: Paste (or simply insert the cards from the campaign in your gem holder). And voilà! Optional Step: travel to France, and offer a glass of white wine with some cheese to thank Djimne for her idea (but beware of her husband ).
